Dr. Jonathan Hislop PhD MD

Dr. Hislop completed his medical training at McGill University, earning both an MD, and a PhD degree. He has presented his research at several conferences, including in New Orleans, and San Diego. He also has several publications in prominent journals, and was awarded the CIHR Brain Star Award. Dr. Hislop currently holds an appointment as a clinical instructor through the University of British Columbia, and happily assists in training residents for the program. His practice is diverse, including individuals of all ages, and with a wide variety of medical conditions. Dr. Hislop also volunteers as part of the medical staff for Vancouver area sporting events. He is active as well on social media and can be followed on Twitter (@HislopMD), and is an occasional guest on Maureen McGrath’s CKNW Sunday Health Show. Dr. Hislop sits on various professional committees, including the North Shore Division of Family Practice’s Practice Management Working Group, and is a Peer Mentor with the BC Doctors Technology Office, assisting physicians in the community develop technological solutions for their offices.
In his spare time Dr. Hislop enjoys the outdoors. He has completed several half marathons, marathons, and a gran fondo. He enjoys swimming as well, and has completed his first short triathlon. In the winter, he regularly plays hockey, but refuses to sort out whether his loyalty lies with the Vancouver Canucks or the Montreal Canadiens.
